How do you check vehicles?

Postby flamenco » Tue Oct 27, 2009 10:28 pm

Hi. I am planning to stay in Taiwan for a couple of years and am very interested in your service as I don't know much about cars, especially cars in Taiwan. I have only been there a couple of times on business, and now my company wants to relocate me. I will likely be needing a car during my stay and would like to ask how you manage all your checks when you check the cars on the site. Do you have a ramp or something to make it up in the air?

Sorry forgot to mention. If I ask you to simply find a car, do you charge separately for the checking as well as find the car?

Hi Flamenco. Welcome to Taiwan!

Firstly, the vehicle sourcing service already includes one 200-point system of checks as mentioned on the Vehicle Sourcing Page. This service should really take care of all the fuss and trouble associated with locating and then being sure of a car when putting your money down on it.

We carry all of the tools, including jacks and stands to lift the car in the air with wheels off the ground so that we have full access underneath if carrying out the inspection on-site. We also take photos on the underside in cases there are any outstanding faults which may be rectifiable (within reason), so that we can hold a record and so that our customer can view them in case they wish for us to cancel the vehicle sourcing for any reason and move on to another vehicle.
Do bare in mind that vehicle inspection fees will still be charged in cases where minor, serviceable faults exist and are going to be taken care of by the seller without vehicle price adjustment, before transaction is complete. We will not accept and will not charge checking fees or sourcing fees for vehicles which are deemed to be unsafe or unserviceable according to our own high standards under the sourcing service.
We will always do our best to only forward the best condition vehicles to our clients for consideration, or we will offer their money back if we cannot find vehicles to meet our strict checking standards, or in cases where the client is simply dissatisfied with our vehicle sourcing results.

I hope this puts your mind at ease about our services, and I thank you very much for contacting us.

Was there a particular vehicle you were interested in? If you like you can mail us at customer@actaiwan.com and we will try to offer our consultation in regards to your needs and budget. Otherwise you could perhaps post your ideas here and anyone can try to offer their own opinion.

WoW! That was fast!

That makes sense. Thank you for that. :P I will send you an email about the vehicle I think I like in Taiwan. You can let me know what you think maybe. Do they have children seats for cars there? I don't remember seeing any?

This is the name of a company selling all kinds of child seats, buggies, prams, pushchairs etc.
The address listed below is of the distribution agent and so their prices should be pretty much the lowest you could find not taking into account any sales that department stores may have to entice shoppers.
You may want to ask for a lady named Betty as I am sure she can speak some English. They are very helpful and may usually have some demonstration models for you to check out.
Are you looking for a standard belted child seat, or a special ISOfix type? If you want an ISOfix seat then remember the vehicle must offer the appropriate anchorage points, as they cannot be added later.
